I am Nitesh Kumar Shah, an M.Tech. student in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence department at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras), where I hold a full scholarship (tuition waiver + stipend) from the GE Scholar. I completed my B.Tech. in Information Technology (Specialization in Business Informatics) at IIIT Allahabad. I am currently studying with research interests in understanding the foundations behind the learning algorithms.. human decision-making, and preference modeling. My thesis focuses on studying context effects from random choice data and understanding how changing contexts influence human decision-making and preferences. I am also exploring learning from human preferences to develop more behavior-aware AI systems. My broader interests include generative AI, intelligent systems, and data-driven decision making. Apart from this, nowadays I enjoy spending my rest of free time doing competitive coding and solving Deep-ML questions.

I have published and presented across IEEE TENCON, CONFLUENCE, and SPIN, contributed an open dataset to Harvard Dataverse, and also worked on cybersecurity building a framework auditing and verifying the security aspects of bluetooth low energy devices.
